Vision AMG
Legendary performance enters a new era.
Electric performance accelerates into the future.
The Vision AMG is a bold statement that combines Formula 1 championship-level performance, an innovative new platform and breathtaking design.
In Affalterbach, they’ve been quietly working on the impossible.
An electric four-door coupe that looks and performs unlike anything else on the street (or the racetrack). With the high bar they’ve set at Mercedes-AMG, it’s almost unthinkable that they could raise it even higher, never mind reinvent what it means to be a fully electric vehicle. But that’s just what the Vision AMG is — a reinvention of an entirely new class of electric vehicles.
Building on the groundbreaking VISION EQXX, the Vision AMG throws out the rulebook and starts from scratch. All the drivetrain components are entirely new from the AMG.EA platform to the dedicated high-performance, high-voltage battery. But what keeps the soul of this vehicle humming is the innovative Axial Flux Motor developed by YASA (Mercedes-Benz’s wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to ultra-high-performance motors). Its compact, lightweight design make it a powerhouse that leaves conventional electric motors in the dust.Disclaimer[5]
Visually, the Vision AMG feels strikingly futuristic. The impact is immediate with its long wheelbase, powerful shoulders, and pronounced 22-inch wheels. The roof tapers gracefully toward the rear of the vehicle, forming a tear drop-like shape that breaks new ground in aerodynamics. The headlights are stylized to feature LED lights in the shape of the iconic three-pointed star connected by a thin light bar that can display a variety of animations. The taillights, by contrast, feature three LED cylindrical tubes that resemble the afterburners of a fighter jet. But what brings it all together is the silver Alubeam paint coating the entire vehicle.Disclaimer[4]
The Vision AMG is more than a concept car. It’s a brave stylistic achievement that doesn’t sacrifice performance or comfort — signaling the future of both AMG and Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles. And if that’s the future they’re envisioning in Affalterbach. Then the future looks bright.
